Every veneer case at Precious Smiles starts with an in-person consultation with Dr. Mereos — never a rushed sales pitch. During this visit, Dr. Mereos examines your teeth, gums, and bite, and takes time to understand what you’d actually like to change about your smile: color, shape, size, spacing, or some combination of all four.

If a simpler or less costly treatment — like professional whitening or dental bonding — would get you a similar result, we’ll tell you. Digital Impressions & Custom Design

Once you’ve decided to move forward, we capture the exact shape of your teeth using digital impression technology — a small handheld scanner that’s far more comfortable than the old-fashioned putty molds many patients remember (and dread) from past dental visits. It’s quick, doesn’t trigger a gag reflex the way traditional impressions often do, and gives us a highly precise 3D model of your smile to work from.

From there, Dr. Mereos works directly with our trusted local ceramist to custom-design each veneer — selecting the exact shade, shape, and translucency to complement your facial features and your natural teeth. This is where the “art” side of cosmetic dentistry matters most: a well-matched veneer looks like your tooth, not like a cap sitting on top of it. You’ll have the chance to review and approve the design before your veneers are fabricated.

Preparation & Placement

On treatment day, we begin by lightly preparing the teeth that are receiving veneers. This typically involves removing a small, precise amount of enamel from the front surface — just enough to make room for the veneer to sit flush and natural against your gumline, without looking bulky or overbuilt. Most patients feel little to no discomfort during this step, and we’re happy to use gentle local anesthesia if you’d like extra comfort.

Once your custom veneers arrive from the lab, we check the fit, shade, and bite alignment of each one before permanently bonding them into place with a durable dental adhesive. With proper care, porcelain veneers typically last around 10 years, and many of our patients never need to replace them. Veneers resist staining far better than natural enamel, so your results stay bright over time.
